Lavrov pointed to the West's preparations for a major European war

Western countries are not hiding the preparations for a new major war on the European continent. This was stated on October 28 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the International Conference on Eurasian Security in Minsk.

"They are not hiding the preparations that are leading to the west of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, a new great European war," the minister said.

Lavrov recalled that France and Britain had agreed to coordinate nuclear forces and "created a kind of Entente for the development of missile systems," and Germany and Britain had signed an agreement on military cooperation with a possible "nuclear dimension."

The Foreign Minister stressed that the militarization of European countries is gaining momentum, financing of the military-industrial complex is increasing, large-scale exercises are being conducted, and logistics for the transfer of troops to the eastern front is being improved.

On October 23, the chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces, Fabien Mandon, called on the army to begin preparations for a possible major military conflict with the Russian Federation in three to four years. The head of the General Staff also drew attention to the need to strengthen the defense budget and modernize the state's weapons.

Earlier, on October 2, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban accused Brussels of wanting to start a war over Ukraine. At the same time, he warned that the third World War could start at any moment if one of the major powers "makes a mistake." According to the Prime Minister, the current "conflict situation is so tense" that a mistake by one of the more serious players than Hungary could lead to "the outbreak of a world war."
