Facilities of the Matyrsky reservoir near Lipetsk will be repaired

Repair work has started on the hydraulic structures of the Matyrsky reservoir near Lipetsk. This is necessary in order to protect the city from floods.

The cable equipment and the braking system of the lifting mechanisms of the gate segments are being replaced.

Evgeny Anosov, acting Director of the Center for Environmental Projects, told GOROD48 that repairs are carried out every year. The decision to replace the parts was made based on the results of the inspection.

The agency explains that the braking system of the lifting mechanisms of the gate segments is necessary in order to regulate the water level at the locks. Depending on the fullness of the artificial reservoir, the water is either discharged or delayed. In turn, the safety of people who live and work in the area depends on this. The reservoir was built at the intersection of the Matyry, Baigory and Samovets rivers.

The construction of the reservoir was carried out from 1970 to 1976. At first it was intended for the production of NLMZ, but now it is used for recreational purposes.

Earlier it was reported that in Lipetsk, in early November, they plan to open an underground passage on Metallurg Street after major repairs. The contractor at the facility was the Lipetsk IC company. She received the contract in May, requesting 21.1 million rubles for her work.
