The turnover of the Russian catering market in the first nine months of 2025 amounted to 4.3–4.4 trillion rubles. In real prices, the increase was 7-8%, and in current prices — about 19%, according to INFOLine calculations. This was reported by Delovoy Peterburg on October 27.

According to the portal, the main driver of the market was the fast food segment, where the number of transactions increased by 7%. At the same time, prices in St. Petersburg are rising in the fast food and mid-range segments, where the average check is up to 2.5 thousand rubles per guest.

According to Anna Lapchenko, director of the NF Group's retail real estate department in St. Petersburg, more than 130 catering establishments opened in the city's leading shopping streets in the first half of 2025, which is 40% more than in the same period last year.

"Classic cafes, restaurants and bars remain the most popular formats. Also, since the beginning of the year, coffee and tea formats and bakeries and pastry shops have been actively opened," she said.

According to Nikoliers, from 2022 to the third quarter of 2025, the catering segment occupies a leading position in terms of the number of openings — 113 new facilities.

Over the year, the average receipt for ready-made food and drinks increased by 17%, reaching 266 rubles. At the same time, in the first nine months of this year, compared to the same period in 2024, sales in micromarkets increased by 7.25% in physical terms, and by 11% in monetary terms.
