- The architecture of the business program of the V Congress of Young Scientists has been published
The key theme of the V Congress of Young Scientists will be "The energy of Science: from the potential of knowledge to the creation of the future." The event will take place on November 26-28, 2025 in the federal territory of Sirius. The Congress of Young Scientists is a key annual event of the Decade of Science and Technology, announced by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in 2022-2031.
The year 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry, and a significant part of the program of the V Congress of Young Scientists will be devoted to energy and the contribution of science to the development of the nuclear industry. In addition to a rich discussion and international agenda, the V Congress program will also include new event formats: open lectures and dialogues with leading scientists, government and business representatives, scientific meetings, and events for children. There will be events within the framework of the BRICS association, as well as events of the Russian Science Foundation, the Coordinating Council for Youth in the Scientific and Educational Fields, and others.
"The Jubilee Congress of Young Scientists is being held in the year of the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry, and its key theme will be energy. Just as nuclear energy could not have appeared without advanced scientific knowledge, without a scientific breakthrough and the contribution of thousands of minds to the study of this scientific field, modern science cannot be imagined without the energy, knowledge and talent of thousands of scientists, our compatriots. At the Congress, we will discuss not only achievements in the field of energy, but also the energy of knowledge, the energy of cooperation necessary to build new mechanisms for the development of science in our country and in the world," said Anton Kobyakov, head of the interdepartmental working group on the preparation and holding of the congress of young scientists and satellite events, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.
The architecture of the congress is centered around four main tracks. The track "Big Challenges: momentum of development" will combine sessions dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry and the development of the nuclear industry, space exploration and the oceans, the development of the chemical industry, energy and biotechnology, artificial intelligence and the agro-industrial sector.
During the sessions of the track "Initiatives of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia: energy of generations", participants will discuss the implementation of initiatives, projects and events of the Decade of Science and Technology. The discussions will focus on specific measures aimed at solving the tasks of the Decade: attracting talented youth to research and development, involving scientists in solving the most important tasks of developing society and the country, increasing the availability of information about the achievements and prospects of Russian science. The real track will feature a wide variety of sessions.: from the role of science fiction in the country's economy and the construction of the future to approaches to the film adaptation of the biographies of Russian scientists and a retrospective of five past congresses.
The discussions on the track "Potential of the Future: personnel, tools and infrastructure" will focus on the relationship between applied and fundamental science, training and evaluation of scientific personnel, including in the context of engineering specialties, areas of scientific and technological development of Russian regions, scientific infrastructure and the digital transformation of science and higher education.
The track "Fields of Interaction: International cooperation" will focus on issues of international scientific cooperation. It will include discussions on the role of scientific diplomacy, including in building a world without nuclear threat, as well as a BRICS forum on social and humanitarian research.
The business program of the congress will include new event formats. For the first time, the Feedback format will appear at the V Congress: young scientists will be able to ask questions to government officials, heads of companies and heads of leading scientific and educational organizations. Traditional lectures by leading scientists have also received new content: this year they are dedicated to a separate track "Constants of Science: lectures by leading scientists", in which the laureates of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology and other top awards in the field of science will deliver their lectures. The congress will include a scientific dating service, as well as a children's science forum.
Traditionally, the Congress will host events of the Scientific Lounge and the Russian Science Foundation School: workshops, lectures, presentations of developments by Russian scientists and engineers, seminars for Russian Science Foundation grantees, as well as meetings of councils of young scientists and student scientific societies with the coordinators of the Coordinating Council for Youth in the Scientific and Educational Fields of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on Science and Education.
Media accreditation for the V Congress of Young Scientists continues until November 3. You can submit an application and learn more about the preparations for the congress on the official website.
