The cartoon "Masha and the Bear" should be limited to television and streaming services. This opinion was shared on October 28 by political scientist and public figure Vadim Popov.

"This product should not be shown to children. It contains a scattering of harmful meanings that contradict traditional Russian values. To begin with, the main character lives alone, without parents. A strange and dangerous example of alienation for a small child," Popov said in an interview with the "Paragraph".

In addition, according to the political scientist, Masha is a moody and mercantile girl. It also raises questions that all the animals of the forest are afraid of the heroine in the cartoon, Popov noted.

So, in one of the episodes Masha hysterically forced the wolves to be treated, which can be considered as the main character's cruelty to animals, Popov summed up.

Earlier, on August 20, the Zen information platform learned that Cheburashka is the most beloved animated character among Russians, with 18% of respondents voting for him. The heroes of the DreamWorks studio, such as Shrek or Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon, are almost as good as the popular favorite character. They took the second place with a score of 17%. The bronze medal of the rating with 14% of the votes was taken by the legendary Russian duo — the Hare and the Wolf from the animated series "Nu, Pogodi!".
