The media reported Merkel's criticism of Merz for speaking out about migration
Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel chastised the current head of the country's government, Friedrich Merz, for speaking about the migration issue. This was reported by the Bild newspaper.
It is noted that during the public readings of her memoirs, Merkel urged politicians not to call the migration crisis of 2015-2016 an "influx of migrants." According to her, in such situations, individuals should be considered in a group of people. The ex-chancellor did not mention Merz, but the publication considered her statement a comment on current discussions in Germany and criticism of Merz. Merkel also called on politicians to "be conscientious and moderate in tone."
"The vast majority of people understand unmistakably whether a politician is acting out of some calculation (...) or whether he is really interested in solving problems," Merkel said, quoting her book.
