Bloomberg has learned about Paramount's plans to lay off about 1,000 employees.
The American media company Paramount Skydance will lay off 1,000 employees as part of the first stage of staff reduction. This was reported by Bloomberg on October 28, citing sources.
"On Wednesday (October 29. — Ed.) Paramount Skydance Corp will begin a large-scale series of layoffs, cutting 1,000 jobs," the publication says.
It is noted that the second round is expected later, and it is planned to lay off about 2 thousand people in total.
According to the newspaper, the organization was created as a result of the merger of Paramount Global and Skydance Media in August, and the new management expressed its intention to quickly reduce costs and restructure the business.
On the same day, the Reuters news agency reported that Amazon plans to reduce up to 30,000 employees. It is specified that this number represents a small proportion of the total number of employees of the company, which numbers about 1.55 million people. However, this is almost 10% of Amazon's 350,000 corporate employees.
