In the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, a 48-year-old woman stole 1.8 million rubles from a bank while the application was malfunctioning. This was announced on October 28 by the MIA Media portal.
"A local resident discovered a malfunction in the banking application. <...> Taking advantage of this vulnerability, the woman made 212 illegal transactions, as a result of which over 1.8 million rubles were credited to her son's accounts," the Telegram channel said.
It is noted that the woman cashed out the funds received. She allegedly spent most of them on loan repayment and other personal expenses. A criminal case was opened on this fact under Part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Theft committed on an especially large scale").
On January 31, an armed man stole about 7 million rubles from a bank in Yekaterinburg. The incident occurred in the evening on Cosmonauts Avenue in Ordzhonikidze district. The day after the bank robbery, a criminal case was opened under Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Robbery").
