The BBC reported on Japan's support for Trump's candidacy for the Nobel Prize
The new Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takaichi, announced her support for the American leader's candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize during the official visit of US President Donald Trump. This was announced on October 28 by the BBC television channel.
It is noted that Takaichi announced her intention to "nominate the president for the Nobel Peace Prize" during a bilateral meeting with Trump. The American leader, in turn, praised Japan, calling it a "great ally."
"I just want to let you know — anytime you have any questions, any doubts, anything you want, any services you need, anything I can do to help Japan, we will be there," Trump quoted the TV channel as saying.
Earlier, on October 21, it was reported that in Japan, as a result of a parliamentary vote, the leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, Sanae Takaichi, won the support of 237 deputies of the lower house out of 465. This ensured her victory in the first round. As a result, she became the first woman to head the Japanese cabinet.
