Shoigu reported on the West's policy of dividing Russia
The policy of Western countries towards Russia is aimed at dividing the country into dozens of small state entities with the aim of their subsequent exploitation. This was announced on October 28 by the publishing house aif.ru with reference to an article by the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu.
Shoigu said that aggressive external pressure is being exerted against Russia and its society.
"Today, Russia and our entire society are under aggressive external pressure. The most powerful anti-Russian propaganda has been deployed against us. Attacks on our history, culture, and spiritual values continue unabated, as do attempts to drive a wedge into the harmony and brotherhood of the peoples of our country and the CIS countries," Shoigu said.
The Secretary of the Security Council noted that the unity of millions of citizens makes Russia stronger, strengthening cohesion and increasing responsibility for the country's future. In his opinion, the Constitution guarantees the protection of the cultural identity of all the peoples of Russia, preserving their linguistic and ethnic diversity within the framework of common traditional values.
According to him, the most important tasks of national policy are to protect these values and counteract the falsification of history. Teaching history in schools and universities plays a key role in the patriotic education of young people and the formation of an all-Russian civic identity. A sense of belonging and love for the Motherland are most effectively brought up on the examples of the history of the native land, which are close and understandable to the younger generation.
According to Shoigu, the collective West does not understand the essence of Russian interethnic relations, moral strength and the multinational unity of the peoples of Russia.
Earlier, on October 24, Shoigu said that it was vital for Russia to create a "sovereign industry" for the development of rare earth metals, independent of China and the United States. He noted that in modern conditions, the country is obliged to extract 100% of the benefits from its natural resources, including rare earth metals (REM).
