The Ministry of Forestry demanded more than 500 thousand rubles from Angara after the crash of the AN-24

The Ministry of Forestry and Fire Safety of the Amur Region has requested compensation from Angara Airlines, whose An-24 aircraft damaged the forest when it crashed near Tynda, according to the materials of the Arbitration Court of the Irkutsk region. This became known on October 28 from the documents reviewed by Izvestia.

"The Ministry of Forestry and Fire Safety of the Amur Region has filed a lawsuit against Angara Airlines demanding recovery of damage caused to the forest fund as a result of the crash of the AN-24 passenger aircraft on the territory of the forest site," the documents say.

The amount of the penalty is indicated in the amount of 535,004 rubles.

The court will consider the claim in a simplified procedure. A response to the claim will be expected from the defendant by November 12.

The AN-24 crashed in the Amur region, 15 km from the city of Tynda on July 24. Communication with the plane was lost when it was flying on the Khabarovsk – Blagoveshchensk –Tynda route. Later, its burning fuselage was found on the ground. All passengers and crew members were killed. Later, flight recorders were found at the crash site.

On July 24, Izvestia reported that the aviation authorities had maintenance claims against Angara. According to a source familiar with the situation, the airline had previously planned to revoke the aircraft maintenance organization's certificate. Later, on July 30, the Federal Air Transport Agency announced the revocation of the Angara Airline certificate.

On September 16, the IAC published an interim report on the results of the accident investigation. So, according to the results of the preliminary investigation, the pilots of the aircraft could have confused the altitude setting systems. It is noted that the crew paid attention to the height seconds before the death.
