Dumplings are one of the most frequently purchased goods in Russia, however, many cheap dumplings have a composition that is quite dangerous to human health. About this on October 28, "Gazeta.Ru", said Natalia Fomenko, Head of the Department of Food Safety at ROSBIOTECH University.

According to the expert, dumplings have always been a problematic category of goods, since pathogens (salmonella or listeria) are often found in them, this product rarely meets the criteria for BGCP (E. coli group bacteria). In addition, when examining the dumplings, you can notice. that few manufacturers take into account the correct mass fraction of minced meat, which should be more than 50%.

According to the expert, problems are often observed in cheap dumplings.

"Low—quality meat is used for their manufacture, including surrogates (skins, veins, cartilage), meat trimmings and improper animal parts, large amounts of soy and starch, artificial additives and low-quality flour," explained Fomenko.

It is logical that eating such dumplings can lead to poisoning, allergic reactions and problems not only of the gastrointestinal tract, but also of the heart and kidneys.

In this regard, the expert recommended studying the composition of dumplings and buying dumplings that are made in accordance with GOST.

Earlier, on June 17, Oksana Mikhaleva, an endocrinologist, nutritionist at SM Clinic, Candidate of Medical Sciences, spoke about the most dangerous eating habits of Russians. According to her, the love of baking, in particular pies, pies and dumplings, can lead to overeating due to the high calorie content, the presence of "fast" carbohydrates and starch.
