Two people have died in an explosion at an underground mine in the Australian state of New South Wales. This was reported at 3:45 a.m. on October 28, local time (20:45 Moscow time) by the police.nsw force agency.

Rescuers went to the Endeavour mine, located in the Kobar area, about 450 km east of Broken Hill, after receiving a report of the incident. Officers who arrived at the scene confirmed that one man had died from the effects of an underground explosion.

"Two women were brought to the surface, but one of them later died. The second woman was taken by helicopter to the hospital with hearing damage and symptoms of shock," the publication says.

It is specified that rescue services continue to work at the scene of the incident.

Earlier, on October 11, it was reported that three people died as a result of the crash of a light aircraft at Shellharbour Airport in New South Wales, Australia. The causes of the incident were not reported.
