Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on October 27 that the country's authorities were monitoring the situation after the earthquake.

"Our Office of Emergency Management (AFAD), together with the relevant units, continues to conduct a thorough investigation and monitoring on the ground. We are also closely monitoring the progress of the work," he wrote on the social network X.

Also, according to the Turkish Ministry of Health, there is no information about the victims.

An earthquake in eastern Turkey with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred earlier in the day. It occurred 60 km from the city of Balikesir, which has a population of 238 thousand people. The earthquake was located at a depth of 6 km.
