An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 occurred in Istanbul. This was reported on September 27 on the official website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

It is noted that the earthquake occurred 60 km from the city of Balikesir, which has a population of 238 thousand people. The earthquake was located at a depth of 6 km.

No injuries or damage were reported.

Earlier, on October 26, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 was reported in western Turkey. It occurred 33 km from the town of Arnavutkey, which has a population of 198,000 people, and its source was at a depth of 11 km.
