Some of the Ukrainian soldiers laid down their weapons and surrendered after reading the leaflets dropped on the positions calling for an end to resistance. The incident occurred on the front line in the Kharkiv region in front of the village of Tikhoe. This was announced on October 27 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the ministry, soldiers of the 136th Guards separate motorized rifle brigade of the North group of forces liberated the village of Tikhoe in the Kharkiv region. The units caught the enemy by surprise — the retreating formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were destroyed by drone strikes, which was confirmed by objective monitoring footage.

"After a preliminary search of the area, some of the Ukrainian militants laid down their weapons and surrendered. The rest, having suffered losses, were dislodged from fortified positions and fled," the Defense Ministry's Telegram channel reported.

The ministry noted that the Russian military showed courage and bravery in liberating the settlement, continuing to inflict fire damage on the enemy in the Kharkov direction.

Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Defense reported the suppression of four attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break out of the encirclement in Kupyansk through destroyed crossings in the Petrovka area. As a result of the strikes, up to 50 Ukrainian soldiers and six pieces of equipment, including two Humvee armored vehicles, were destroyed. 60 militants and five pieces of equipment were also eliminated in the area of Krasnoarmeysk.
