One of the men detained on suspicion of robbing the Louvre is a citizen of two countries at once — France and Algeria, the second suspect has a passport of a French citizen of Malian origin. The newspaper Le Parisien writes about this on October 27.

Both men are approximately 30 years old, the attackers are natives of the Paris suburb of Aubervilliers. One of them was detained at the capital's Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport on October 26, when he was trying to fly to Algeria. The arrest of the second attacker in the Paris region is being reported for the first time. According to police, the man intended to escape to Mali.

"According to our information, these two men, who are just over 30 years old, decided to exercise their 'right to remain silent,'" the media points out.

It is noted that the identity of the perpetrators was previously known to the French justice system, as their genetic profiles have already been entered into the national database.

French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati announced the Louvre robbery on October 19. On the same day, the newspaper Le Parisien learned about the discovery near the scene of the robbery of the broken crown of the wife of Emperor Napoleon III Eugenie, which, among other decorations, was exhibited in the gallery "Apollo".

The Louvre opened its doors to visitors three days after the robbery. Four days later, experts determined that a security guard was involved in the robbery. In total, four people are wanted for the robbery.
