The Interior Ministry told about the use of Iranian and Georgian phone numbers by fraudsters

Phone scammers use mobile numbers from Iran, Georgia and Slovakia to deceive Russians, as they visually resemble Russian ones. This was announced on October 27 by the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"After strengthening measures to curb the operation of SIM boxes in the Russian Federation, fraudsters have switched to actively using numbers from other countries, in particular, with the codes +98 (Iran), +995 (Georgia) and +421 (Slovakia)," the agency's Telegram channel says.
