In the Leninsky district of the Tula region, six landfills were liquidated on the territory of a quarry in the village of Nekrasovo. This is reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

"The prosecutor's office of the Leninsky district conducted an audit of the implementation by the main department of the Tula administration for the Zarechensk territorial district of legislation on environmental protection and sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population," the report says.

As it turned out, six landfills were formed in the Nekrasovo quarry. Household and construction waste, car tires and machinery parts were stored on their territory. The Prosecutor's Office concluded that the landfills posed a threat to the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population.

The district Prosecutor's office submitted a submission to the head of the department and brought the department official to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 6.3 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. As of October 27, the landfills in the quarry have been cleared, and the land has been reclaimed, TSN24 writes.

In the summer, it was reported that all illegal landfills had been cleared on the lands of the forest fund in the central ecological zone of the Baikal Natural Territory (CEZ BPT). The area of three landfills in the Slyudyansky district was 2.96 hectares, and two in Olkhonsky — 6.5 hectares. To eliminate the problematic landfill in Zavorotnaya Bay, located 200 km from the Maly Sea, we had to deliver equipment and take out the garbage on a barge.
