Erdogan and Starmer pointed to the need for a just peace in Ukraine
The conflict in Ukraine must be resolved as soon as possible with a just peace. This opinion was expressed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 27 following a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"We discussed with Mr. Prime Minister [Starmer] the latest developments in Ukraine. We have confirmed our common position that this conflict, which is already approaching its fourth year, should be resolved as soon as possible with a just peace," the Turkish leader said.
Erdogan also expressed hope for the launch of new joint projects in the field of defense industry with the UK.
On October 24, Erdogan proposed his country as a venue for a possible summit between Russia and the United States. In addition, the Turkish president stressed that any dialogue is useful for resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
Prior to that, on September 27, the Turkish leader accused a number of countries of escalating the conflict in Ukraine. He added that while the "war barons" poured gasoline on the fire of military conflict, Turkey has always been looking for ways to achieve a just peace.
