Psychologist Sergey Lunyushin spoke about the impact of stereotypes on human life.

In conversation with the agency RuNews24.Ru On Monday, October 27, he noted that stereotypes are not just thinking patterns, but an important psychological mechanism that simplifies perception and decision—making under stress or time constraints. He noted that stereotypes are divided into social, behavioral and value-based, helping to save mental energy, but they often distort reality.

According to the psychologist, many of them are formed on the basis of limited experience or emotions and often turn out to be false. Stereotypes can speed up reactions and help you navigate, but they also prevent you from objectively perceiving people and situations, becoming a source of prejudice.

Lunyushin emphasized that the presence of stereotypes in itself is neither good nor bad. However, if they distort perception or cause harm, you need to work with them and strive for a more objective view of the world. Changing ingrained prejudices takes time and conscious effort.

On October 26, Maria Rodnova, a female psychologist, expert in age psychology, and kinesiologist, spoke with Gazeta.Ru" said that in order to overcome stereotypes about age and learn to accept themselves, women need to rethink their attitudes. The expert noted that age is only a convention, and urged women to focus not on external standards, but on inner strength and wisdom, notes 360.ru .

In June, a survey showed that a third of women faced gender stereotypes at work. According to the authors, women aged 26 to 35 were most often confronted with a biased attitude.

Earlier, a VTsIOM poll showed that half of Russians (48%) believe that men are more inclined to leadership. 22% of respondents said that men are more inclined to leadership, "because they are men," another 9% referred to prevailing social stereotypes, the NSN notes.
