Britain will supply Turkey with 20 Eurofighter fighter jets worth over $10 billion.
The United Kingdom and Turkey have signed the largest fighter export deal in the last 20 years worth more than $10 billion, providing for the supply of 20 Eurofighter Typhoon combat aircraft. This was announced on October 27 by the press service of the British government.
The agreement was signed during the British Prime Minister's visit to Ankara, where he was received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Fighter deliveries will begin in 2030.
"This landmark agreement with Turkey is a victory for British workers, a victory for our defense industry, and a victory for NATO security," British Prime Minister Keira Starmer said in a statement.
The report states that the deal will strengthen Turkey's defense capabilities as a NATO member and enhance the interoperability of the two countries' air forces.
Earlier, on July 4, Bloomberg reported that the German Ministry of Defense is considering the possibility of purchasing 1,000 Leopard 2 main battle tanks and up to 2,500 GTK Boxer armored combat vehicles worth €25 billion as part of NATO's rearmament and strengthening the alliance's defense capabilities.
