"We hope that this will be implemented in the near future," he said.

At the same time, the diplomat did not specify when direct flights could be launched.

In December of the same year, Malaysia's ambassador to Moscow, Cheong Lung Lai, confirmed that Russia and Malaysia were discussing launching direct flights.
