The joint Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" was awarded the Grand Prix of the Pyongyang International Film Festival. The film also won the award for best director.

"Red Silk", created with the participation of Nota Bene Film Group and the National Media Group, was one of the central films of the program. Its screening took place immediately after the opening ceremony.

The International Film Festival in the capital of the DPRK has opened after a six-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony was held at the Pyongyang International Film Center, where the head of the National Cinematography Administration of the DPRK stressed that the event would contribute to strengthening friendship between progressive countries of the world.

The Pyongyang International Film Festival was founded in 1987 and was held every two to three years before the pandemic. Its resumption marks an important event in the cultural life of the DPRK.

On October 10, "Red Silk" was shown at the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris. The atmospheric film evening was held to the sounds of an accordion and a Russian balalaika.

The Russian-Chinese historical blockbuster "Red Silk" was widely released in China on September 6. At the same time, Chinese viewers shared their impressions after watching the painting. By October 9, the blockbuster had grossed almost $2 million at the Chinese box office.

The film was created with the participation of NMG Kinoprokat, a company that is part of the National Media Group holding. The film's distributor in China is the largest film corporation, China Film Group.
