Hongqi cars imported to Russia by official means were manufactured and imported into the country in compliance with all requirements, there are no objective reasons for refusing to register cars. This was stated by the distributor company FAV-Eastern Europe, commenting on reports about the refusal of the traffic police to register Hongqi cars.

"We regret that you are faced with this situation and do not see any objective reasons for refusing to register a car. We are cooperating with government agencies on this issue. In case of difficulties in registration, you can contact the dealer-seller and receive an official letter from FAV-Eastern Europe LLC confirming the compliance of the VIN plate on your car with the mandatory requirements," the brand's representative office says in an appeal to car owners (Izvestia has it).

At the end of last week, Telegram channels reported that about a thousand owners of Hongqi cars in Russia could not register them - allegedly, the State Traffic Inspectorate refused because of a "artistically pasted" duplicate plate with a VIN number.

FAV-Eastern Europe's statement states that all mandatory requirements for the manufacturer's nameplates (set out in paragraph 2 of Appendix No. 7 of TR CU 018/2011. Technical regulations of the Customs Union. On the safety of wheeled vehicles") have been complied with.

Earlier, on October 16, it was reported that Russia began accepting orders for Hongqi H9 executive sedans in a new modification, which is characterized by a powerful engine and the presence of an all-wheel drive system. The restyled H9 is offered to Russians with a three-liter turbocharged V6 engine with a capacity of 326 hp (450 Nm), a classic eight-speed automatic and an all-wheel drive transmission. The price of the car is 9.99 million rubles.
