The head coach of the Russian national team, Valery Karpin, included 39 players in the expanded list of the national team. The list was published on October 27 on the website of the Russian Football Union (RFU).

The Russian national team will play friendly matches with the teams of Peru on November 12 in St. Petersburg.‑St. Petersburg and Chile on November 15 in Sochi.

"We will take the preparations as seriously as possible, especially considering that both matches will be home matches for the Russian national team. Therefore, we should not have expected any experiments when forming an expanded list," Karpin said.

The expanded list traditionally includes players who have performed best in recent matches for their clubs, and whose abilities and potential are well known to the coaching staff, the publication noted.

Karpin said on October 7 that the limit on the number of foreign players in Russian football clubs is evil. He also commented on Degtyarev's words about approving his candidacy and stressed that if it is necessary to support the minister's opinion for approval, then "let him not coordinate."

On August 5, Degtyarev announced plans to gradually tighten the limit on foreign players in the Russian Premier League (RPL). According to him, the purpose of such a decision will be to establish a format of "five on the field, ten in the application."
