The entrepreneur named the steps to open a business on maternity leave
Kristina Sudnik, an entrepreneur and head of the Bahar Design women's clothing brand, told Izvestia on October 31 how to modernize her professional skills in business and start her business on maternity leave.
The main step is to find time in the workplace to develop an idea and start implementing it. According to the expert, you can find up to 15 hours in five working days, and if you don't rest on Friday, but devote time to the project, it will be equivalent to three full working days.
In addition, it is worth developing your professional experience on a private basis, offering services to colleagues and acquaintances if there is already a demand for this.
"Of course, you will need to "package" the project — create a presentation, calculate tariffs, make a small website, write several articles about yourself, services and order advertising, either go to business events or ask around your friends," Sudnik said.
At the third stage, according to the entrepreneur, it is important not to set high prices at the beginning. It is necessary to test the market and, when you receive the first orders, gradually increase the cost of services and invest the money earned in marketing.
The expert drew attention to the fact that one of the main goals is to earn two average salaries, which will ensure financial independence. In Moscow, this is 450 thousand rubles per month. With this money, you can run three projects and live comfortably.
If a woman is already on maternity leave and has not started a business yet, the Mentor advises not to rush and give yourself time to recover. According to her, the ideal solution would be to go to the doctor, take vitamins and study your profession.
"Remember that going on maternity leave is a new development in your profession, which you studied at a university for, and you have come a long way to a professional career. On the contrary, it is an incentive to expand and improve skills, and often transition to a new status, as an entrepreneur or small businessman," the expert concluded.
Senator Natalia Koshikhina announced on September 13 that parental leave in Russia is counted in the length of service, thereby preserving the right to a future pension. She explained that pension points earned during maternity leave are added to those already accumulated for work and directly affect the final pension amount.
