Brazilian President urges to end the Ukrainian conflict
On October 27, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called for negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict on the sidelines of the ASEAN summit, and also announced Brazil's readiness to help in this process.
"I haven't told [US President Donald Trump] yet, but I'll tell you soon: I think we can also help end the conflict in Ukraine. Because, in my opinion, he has already reached the point of maturity," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Da Silva noted that Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky understand what they want, which means it remains to bring it to the negotiating table.
Zelensky announced on October 22 that his state was ready for a diplomatic settlement of the conflict, but it was not ready to make concessions to its territory. Kiev, according to the Ukrainian leader, will not accept this compromise.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on October 23 that a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict should be achieved not by false statements from media representatives, but by diplomatic efforts during negotiations. According to her, Russia sees no obstacles for the continuation of the process "to coordinate the political framework of Ukrainian regulation and saturation with concrete results" on the part of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States.
