The dates of the circus restoration in Krasnodar have been postponed

In Krasnodar, the resumption of a large-scale reconstruction of the Krasnodar State Circus has been postponed until at least 2027. As explained in the regional Department of construction, the beginning of a new stage of construction and installation work requires prior approval of budget allocations.

KrasnodarMedia news agency clarifies that in September it became known about the postponement of the restoration completion date to 2029. According to the initial plans, the work was supposed to be completed before 2026. However, one of the reasons for the schedule correction was the significant burden on the regional budget.

As part of the first stage, only preparatory work was carried out. So, experts have installed temporary fencing, removed coverings and green spaces, removed the fire tank and partially dismantled the water pipeline system. The government terminated the contract with the original contractor unilaterally for improper fulfillment of obligations.

The Working Group on Budget Cost Optimization recognized that it was premature to hold a tender to select a contractor.

The historic circus building, which was opened in July 1970, was closed for reconstruction in January 2023.

Earlier it was reported that in Krasnodar, until December 30, traffic was restricted on the section of Sadovaya Street — from MOPRa to Hippodromnaya. Inconveniences are associated with the reconstruction of the collector. The work will take place on the side of the Garden Bridge, but it will not affect traffic on the ferry itself. During the repair, the roadway on Sadovaya Street will be narrowed, besides, it will be impossible to leave for the Racetrack.
