A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. As a result of the actions of the Russian military, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 300 militants, an armored combat vehicle, 17 vehicles and a warehouse of materiel.

In addition, the Zapad group of troops improved the situation along the front line, defeated Ukrainian armed formations in the areas of the settlements of Staroverovka, Kupyansk, Kurilovka, Blagodatovka, Monachinovka, Petrovka, Petropavlovsk of the Kharkiv region, Drobyshevo and Novoselovka of the DPR.

"The units of the Center group of forces have taken more advantageous positions and positions. The manpower and equipment of three mechanized, jaeger, assault, amphibious assault brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two National Guard brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Krasnoarmeysk, Rodinskoye, Gnatovka, Lysovka, Dimitrov of the Donetsk People's Republic, Novopavlovka and Ivanovka of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 455 servicemen," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated transport and energy infrastructure facilities used for rail transportation of weapons and military equipment to combat areas in Donbas, a military airfield, long-range drone launch sites and temporary deployment points of Ukrainian armed forces in 150 areas.

In turn, air defense systems shot down two guided aerial bombs, seven HIMARS multiple rocket launchers made in the United States and 350 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 92,925 UAVs, 633 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25,710 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,607 multiple rocket launchers, 30,822 field artillery guns and mortars, 45,045 pieces of special vehicles.
