Lavrov noted the exploits of North Korean soldiers and officers in the Kursk region
Russia will never forget the exploits of North Korean soldiers and officers in the Kursk region. This was announced on October 27 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, opening talks with North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee.
"Russians will never forget the feats that were performed by soldiers and officers of the Korean People's Army in the Kursk region to liberate Russian soil," Lavrov said.
He added that these feats will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and historical community between Russia and the DPRK in the common struggle for justice.
On September 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin, taking part in a bilateral meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, which took place after a reception on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II, noted the courage of the DPRK military during the liberation of the Kursk region. Putin also asked Kim Jong-un to convey his gratitude to the entire people of the DPRK.
