Novosibirsk-based S7 Airlines was fined 30,000 rubles for repeated overbooking. This was announced on October 27 by the press service of the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office.

"At the initiative of the transport prosecutor, the airline was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 2 of Article 14.4 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services in violation of the requirements established by the legislation of the Russian Federation, committed repeatedly)," the agency's Telegram channel said.

According to the transport prosecutor's office, in August of this year, passengers flying from Sochi to Novosibirsk were denied transportation due to the excess of the number of passengers who checked in for the flight over the number of available seats on the plane.

S7 Airlines (Siberia) On July 24, she was fined 40,000 rubles for repeated overbooking. It was noted that in May of this year, the airline refused to register two passengers for the flight.

Earlier, on June 2, it was reported that Russia may impose a ban on the use of overbooking by air carriers. The draft law of the State Duma notes that the reason for the emergence of this mechanism is the desire of air carriers to achieve maximum economic benefits — some passengers do not appear on the flight, and in order to achieve greater profits, it is necessary that all available seats are occupied in the aircraft.
