The sensational discovery was made by archaeologists of the Grodekovsky Museum of the Khabarovsk Territory. They discovered a new complex of petroglyphs, ancient rock paintings.

According to IA AmurMedia, with reference to the press service of the regional Ministry of Culture, a museum detachment conducted reconnaissance on the Khor River in the Lazo area. The expedition was organized after the residents of the village of Bichevaya told that they had seen rock carvings.

This information has been confirmed. Scientists have discovered a small piece of writing made in red ochre. It consists of three drawings: two masks, similar to petroglyphs, which are located in the villages of Sheremetyevo and Sikachi-Alyan and on the Kiya River, as well as images from parallel lines.

Archaeologists explained the uniqueness of the find by the fact that in the Eastern Amur region, only the Sukpai script of 11 drawings and the image of a boat on the Kiinsky petroglyphs were executed in this manner.

Not far from the found drawings, archaeologists found a small ancient settlement and objects from the Early Iron Age. The settlement dates roughly from the first millennium BC to the first millennium AD.

In early October, new discoveries were reported in the field of petroglyphs, which suggest that a group of previously unknown nomadic tribes lived in the desert regions of Northern Arabia 12 thousand years ago. They could use camels to navigate the desert. This suggests their important role in human survival in harsh environments.
