On October 27, the Department for the Organization of Combating the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia spoke about the rules of digital financial hygiene.

"Any action with the card should take place only on official websites and in applications, without haste and under the control of the owner," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

The Interior Ministry also advised using a separate card for online purchases and replenishing it only for the required amount immediately before payment in order to minimize possible losses, even if the card data is compromised.

In addition, the agency recommends paying for purchases only from a personal smartphone or computer, since other people's devices and open Wi-Fi networks are more vulnerable to data interception.

UBK reminded that online stores and banks do not request a PIN code, the codes are entered only in the bank's application. If there are suspicions that information about the card may have fallen into the wrong hands, you should immediately contact the bank and request a reissue of the card, the department noted.

Earlier, on October 23, the UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia gave advice on how to help a person who found himself under the influence of fraudsters. It was noted that it is extremely important to remain calm, speak quietly and confidently, as this helps a person feel safe. The Interior Ministry also advised acting as an assistant, not as a judge, and shifting the focus to actions, suggesting thinking about how to protect money and documents.
