In Russia, it was proposed to postpone the requirements for localization of taxis for the self-employed

The All—Russian public organization of small and medium—sized enterprises Opora Rossii has taken the initiative to postpone for five years - until 2030 - the requirements for taxi localization for individual entrepreneurs and people who have self-employment. This was reported by the Kommersant newspaper on October 26.

"The president of Opora Russia, Alexander Kalinin, appealed to the first deputy chairman of the government of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, with a proposal to postpone the entry into force of the requirements of the law on the localization of taxi cars for the self—employed and sole proprietors until 2030," the material says.

It is specified that the draft law, according to which, starting from March 1, 2026, all participants in passenger transportation must choose a localized vehicle in order to be included in the register, was adopted in May of this year. The list of available vehicles includes 22 models of six brands, such as Lada, UAZ, Sollers, Evolute, Voyah and Moskvich. This initiative will not affect residents of the Kaliningrad Region until 2028 and, until 2030, drivers from the Far East.

The requirements, according to the initiators of its transfer, may encourage carriers, for whom changing a car can be very costly, to leave the legal market and start working according to "gray schemes".

On October 1, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation published a list of vehicles that comply with the requirements of the law on taxi localization. All these models include sedans and crossovers, as well as SUVs and seven-seat models, the ministry noted.

On October 21, Andrey Reznikov, director of the Department for interaction with government agencies of the manufacturer of hybrids and electric vehicles Evolute and Voyah, criticized the mechanism for purchasing cars for taxis, and also took the initiative to develop a clear pricing mechanism taking into account manufacturers' expenses and ensuring profitability.
