The expert named the amount of the average social pension in the Russian Federation

Today, the average social pension in the Russian Federation is approximately 15.5 thousand rubles. This was announced on October 27 by Andrey Girinsky, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics of the RUDN University.

"Today, the average value (of the social pension. — Ed.) ranges from 15,5 thousand rubles, and its variations are possible taking into account regional surcharges," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

It clarifies that a social pension is awarded to Russian citizens who have not accumulated sufficient work experience and pension points to receive an insurance pension, or to those who have never been officially employed. The amount of a social pension is usually lower than an insurance pension, and the right to it arises at a later age.

The payment is difficult: the average pension in three years will exceed 30 thousand rubles.

On October 19, Girinsky named the average size of an insurance pension. It was specified that the pension amount was 24 thousand rubles. The associate professor added that the insurance pension will be awarded to women from the age of 60, and to men from the age of 65.
