The AfD reported on the concern of the West caused by the tests of the Burevestnik
The tests of a new weapon developed by Russia, the Burevestnik missile, caused alarm in the West because they illustrated the high combat capability of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Gunnar Lindemann, a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, told Izvestia about this on October 26.
"These tests, of course, cause concern in the West, because they demonstrate how combat-ready the Russian army is. Obviously, many in the NATO countries did not expect Russia to have this missile," he said.
Lindemann stressed that this development in the context of the conflict in Ukraine suggests that Russia could potentially use it against the countries of the alliance.
The politician expressed the hope that the leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance, including the German government, would try to rethink their actions and decide to reduce funding for Kiev.
"We hope that <...> (NATO leaders. They will say that support for Ukraine will be reduced at least to a level where no territory of Russia can be attacked by Ukraine using NATO weapons anymore," Lindemann added.
The most important thing at the moment, as the expert summed up, is to achieve a ceasefire on the demarcation line and begin diplomatic negotiations on a settlement.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the successful tests of the Burevestnik with a nuclear installation, and also stressed that no one else in the world has such weapons. Later that day, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, congratulated all Russia's friends on this result, which, according to the Spanish EFE news agency, sent a clear signal to the West.
