The group that lured girls to fraudulent call centers in Myanmar and Cambodia under the pretext of working as models includes natives of Ukraine and Central Asia.

Among the victims were Dashima Ochirnimayeva, who was rescued, as well as Belarusian citizen Vera Kravtsova, who died and was cremated.

One of the victims, who is currently working on a ransom, told Izvestia on condition of anonymity that Nematullo Abdulloev, known under the pseudonym Nour, was Dashima's seller. He comes from Central Asia and studied in Beijing.

In a conversation with Izvestia, the victim noted that she was lured by Ukrainian Karina Shramko, who is a member of a group led by Abdulloev. According to the models, she attracts Russians with a lot of money and sends them to Myanmar and Cambodia.

"A citizen of Ukraine, Karina Shramko, contacted me, she described the job to me, that I would be able to earn a decent living, that I would be able to close my debts, as I told her my story. She said she would help me and support my entire contract, my entire stay in Cambodia... They took me inside, and we went up to a certain floor, I don't remember anymore, and they showed me my room. When we entered the room, I felt a wild horror. <...> She said that you, and what did you expect, you wanted to get a big salary, come for free and be given a five-star hotel, I'm sorry, but that's the only way you, with you Russians, should act. That is, later, of course, as I did not even know before that that she was a citizen of Ukraine, and that in fact I was not waiting for what she initially stated, of course," said the victim.

As the interlocutor noted, the group is hunting specifically for Russian girls.

On October 13, Ilya Ilyin, head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Thailand, announced the detention of several Russians in a fraudulent call center on the border of Myanmar and Thailand. The organizers of call centers lured Russians into slavery by offering them careers as models or advertising agents.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said on October 23 that several Russians who were held in Myanmar had been released and were in Russia. Then he thanked the official authorities of Myanmar and Thailand for the active assistance shown in resolving this issue.

On October 24, Ilyin told Izvestia in an interview that in 2025, with the direct participation of the Russian Embassy, four Russians were released from such centers.

As the diplomat explained, the rescue mechanism included coordination with Thai law enforcement agencies and the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok. After receiving a signal about a missing person and confirming the information, the Myanmar military extracted people from the so—called parks - closed complexes with barbed wire and machine gun towers.
