On October 26, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov explained why the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation control territories beyond the borders of Donbass and Novorossiya.
"I think it's inappropriate when people ask when the <conflict> will end <...> In fact, we already control other territories outside the regions included in our constitution," Lavrov said in an interview with the Hungarian YouTube channel Ultrahang.
According to him, this position has a simple explanation: Russia needs a buffer zone.
