About 18,000 police officers in Japan will be involved during the three-day visit of US President Donald Trump. This was announced on October 26 by the Japanese broadcasting company NHK.

The publication notes that Tokyo police will strengthen security measures ahead of Trump's three-day visit, which will arrive in Japan on Monday, October 27.

The police plan to focus on combating crimes committed by individuals acting alone. The authors of the material suggest that such measures are related to the assassination of former Prime Minister Abe Shinzo in July 2022, as well as last year's assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania, where he was shot in the ear.

It is specified that police officers will be on round-the-clock duty.

White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt said during a press conference with reporters on October 23 that Trump would meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on October 30. It was clarified that the meeting of the American leader with his Chinese counterpart would be the "final chord" of his "Asian tour," which included visits to Malaysia, Japan and South Korea. In addition, during the visit, Trump will also attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
