On October 26, Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of the Belgorod Region, reported partial flooding of private land after a strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Belgorod reservoir dam.

According to him, the water partially flooded a little more than 10 private plots. As the governor of the region pointed out, residential buildings remained unaffected by water. Gladkov added that the situation in the Shebekinsky district remains stable.

"Yesterday we conducted a tour of four settlements. A total of 16 people are in temporary accommodation facilities in Shebekino and Belgorod. The others decided to go to their relatives. We have agreed with the police to strengthen law enforcement in these settlements," Gladkov wrote on his Telegram channel.

The head of the region also stressed that the authorities are currently monitoring the situation as much as possible and will inform the population depending on the level of threats.

Earlier, on October 25, as a result of a strike by Ukrainian militants, the dam of the Belgorod reservoir was damaged. It was clarified that if the dam was destroyed, there would be a threat of flooding of the floodplain of the river from the Kharkiv region and several streets of settlements in the Belgorod region, where about a thousand people live.
