In France, they reported details about the elevator used to rob the Louvre
The elevator used by the attackers to rob the Louvre Museum in Paris was hijacked in the Louvre commune. This was stated on October 25 by Paris prosecutor Laure Beccou in an interview with the newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche.
"Everything is completely clear now. He (the elevator. — Ed.) was stolen on October 10 in the city of the Louvre, located in the Val d'Oise region," she said.
According to the prosecutor, unknown persons who acted under a false name and provided a false address contacted a company that rents out such equipment. The thieves informed them that they needed to move and arranged a meeting in the Louvre city.
An employee of the company went there. He met two people who threatened him before taking the lift away. We are now trying to establish where he was from the time of the theft until last Sunday. The investigation is ongoing.
French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati announced the Louvre robbery on October 19. It was noted that according to preliminary information, the armed criminals who managed to escape managed to steal jewelry. On the same day, the newspaper Le Parisien learned about the discovery near the scene of the robbery of the broken crown of the wife of Emperor Napoleon III Eugenie, which, among other decorations, was exhibited in the gallery "Apollo". The Louvre opened its doors to visitors three days after the robbery. Four days later, experts determined that a security guard was involved in the robbery.
