The Washington Capitals hockey club was defeated by the Ottawa Senators in a record match for Russian striker Alexander Ovechkin. The match took place on October 26 and ended with a score of 7:1.
This match was the 1,500th in his career for the Russian. Trevor van Riemsdyk scored in the 46th minute as part of the team from the American capital. Dylan Cousins (2nd and 25th) and Drake Baterson (41st and 55th), as well as Shane Pinto (24th), Nick Cousins (27th) and Tom Chabot (50th) scored for the Ottawa club.
