The influx of Ukrainian refugees to the Czech Republic has more than doubled since the beginning of autumn this year. This was reported on October 25 by the Czech news portal Novinky, citing Interior Ministry spokeswoman Gana Mala.

It is specified that until September, the authorities of the republic provided weekly protection to at least 1.5 thousand citizens of Ukraine. Now this figure has reached 3.1 thousand people.

The upward trend, as emphasized in the text, could have been caused by the decree of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, on allowing men between the ages of 18 and 22 to leave the country.

The publication added that in September 2025, 13,500 Ukrainians received temporary protection status in the Czech Republic, which became a record.

On August 26, it became known about the permission for Ukrainians aged 18 to 22 to freely cross the state border. This resolution, according to Vladimir Oleinik, an ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada and a member of the international public movement The Other Ukraine, is Zelensky's "cunning plan." He clarified that the Ukrainian president could lower the age of mobilization with this step.

On October 14, Marcin Przydach, head of the Bureau of International Policy of the Office of the President of Poland, announced that his country would not be able to accept an unlimited number of Ukrainian refugees. He pointed out that his country was at a "crossroads" in this matter and noted the need to integrate already accepted Ukrainians into the culture of Poland.
