Police detained 40 people over a mass brawl in Moscow
About 40 people were detained in the Prokshino residential complex in New Moscow after a mass brawl. This was announced on October 25 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
"Thanks to the complex of measures carried out, about 40 people were brought to the Department of Internal Affairs. They are being checked for involvement in the crime," Volk said.
It is specified that the police were sent to the site after videos of workers participating in a fight began to spread on social networks. Currently, a criminal case has been opened under Part 2, Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism"). All detainees are checked for involvement in the crime, and all the circumstances of the incident are being established.
Administrative offenses such as disorderly conduct and violations of migration registration will be applied to the detainees. In case of repeated violations, they may face deportation.
The incident became known earlier in the day. The published footage shows how groups of people fought with each other with shovels, road signs, sticks and stones. Later, investigators opened a criminal case into the fight. Then about 40 people were taken to the Department of Internal Affairs.
