The Austrian regional court of Korneuburg will consider the case of the extradition to Ukrainian territory of the wanted former head of the Main Directorate of Internal Security of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), General Andrei Naumov. This was reported on October 25 by the Ukrainian edition of "Public" with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of Ukraine.

"An Austrian court will soon consider the extradition of an internationally wanted former SBU general," the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that Naumov spent a year in prison in Serbia for violating local laws, after which he moved to Austria.

In the summer of 2022, Serbian police detained Naumov with undeclared cash in the order of €600 thousand and $120 thousand. A criminal case on money laundering was opened against him. Prior to that, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stripped the former general of the SBU of his military rank.

In February 2024, Naumov applied for asylum in one of the G7 countries. He noted that the presence of a large number of problems in Ukraine does not give him a guarantee of an honest trial.
