Tatarstan investigators have opened a criminal case after the death of a baby thrown out of the window of an apartment building by a five-year-old girl in the village of Vasilevo. This was announced on October 25 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"It is reported on social media that in Vasilevo village, a five-year-old girl threw a baby out of the window of an apartment building. The child died. According to this fact, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan have opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 125 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Leaving in danger")," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

The head of the department, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed Valery Lipsky, head of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Tatarstan, to report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case and the circumstances established.

Earlier, on August 30, in Arkhangelsk, a two-year-old child died in hospital after falling out of the window of a multi-storey building. It was clarified that the baby climbed onto the windowsill and leaned on the mosquito net of an open window designed for ventilation, after which he fell off.
