The United States is not going to stop supporting Taiwan in order to conclude a trade deal with China. This was announced on October 25 by the American Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

"I don't think we will see a trade deal if people care about it, or get favorable trade conditions in exchange for giving up Taiwan," Rubio stressed, his words are reported by the Reuters news agency.

He noted that no one even "thinks about it."

Earlier, on October 20, US President Donald Trump said he did not believe in a possible Chinese attack on Taiwan. Then the American leader noted the good trade relations with China and expressed confidence that the United States and China "will be fine."

On September 19, the head of the White House refused military aid to Taiwan in the amount of more than $ 400 million. This is due to Trump's intention to focus on a trade deal and a possible summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
