A case has been opened in Dagestan against a member of a terrorist organization.

A criminal case has been opened in Dagestan against a man who participates in military operations against Russia as part of a terrorist organization. This was announced on October 25 by the press service of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the republic.

"A criminal case has been opened on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.5 ("Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization")," TASS cites the text of the message.

It is specified that the man joined the "Imam Shamil Battalion" (recognized in the Russian Federation as a terrorist organization, whose activities are prohibited) and continues to participate in hostilities against Russian military personnel. According to the source, in November 2023, a criminal case was already opened against the suspect under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason").

Earlier, on August 19, a local resident was detained in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), who created explosive devices for terrorist attacks and transmitted information about the Russian military to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The man was arrested, and a criminal case of treason was opened against him.
