Egypt has housed about 154 Palestinian prisoners released by Israel in the five-star Marriott Renaissance Cairo Mirage City hotel in Cairo, next door to ordinary tourists. This was reported on October 25 by the Daily Mail newspaper.

This became known thanks to the journalists of the publication, who booked hotel rooms and were able to track down the Palestinian prisoners.

It is noted that among the prisoners who are among ordinary tourists, there is a militant of the Islamic State (IS, the organization is banned in the Russian Federation) and one of the field commanders of the Hamas movement.

According to the newspaper, after some time, the Palestinians may be relocated to other countries such as Turkey, Qatar or Tunisia.

Earlier, on October 22, the UN court ordered Israel to provide for the basic needs of the Palestinians. The Court pointed out that Israel's obligations in this area are enshrined in Article 59 IV of the Geneva Convention. The advisory opinion was prepared based on the results of the meetings where the issues of Israel's obligations regarding the presence of international organizations in the Palestinian territories were considered.

Prior to that, on October 16, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the truce in Gaza should be sustainable so that the reconstruction of the enclave's infrastructure could begin.
